Hedgehog Dryer family on TV2 God Morgen Norge Good Morning Norway

GOOD MORNING!

On 25 March, 2022, Hedgehog founder Bjørn Holte and three of his children made a guest appearance on TV2 “God Morgen Norge.” They covered a variety of topics with host/programleder Peter Bubresko – comparing life in New York City and Hemsedal, Norway; keeping their shoes and boots dry with Hedgehog Dryer; and winning the prestigious Red Dot Award for Product Design.

The interview is in Norwegian so here are some summary points and highlights in English:

  • Bjørn came up with the idea for Hedgehog Dryer when he relocated to Hemsedal (a ski town) as a widower with three small children. He described, “It has up to 9 months with snow…and wet shoes. I tested many dryers. They were so ineffective! I began to see the problem, but why are there no good solutions? There must be something.”
  • Bjørn 's innovative solution improves the drying experience across all dimensions. “What's unique is that the technology in the fan, which is patented, produces a high amount of force that presses the moisture out. There is also adjustable heat, tornado and quiet mode so you can have it in your hallway, and you can extend it. We also have the possibility to use adapters and mount other versions to the fan.” Bjørn speaks about some of the groups that have loved the product, including families and daycares, which both need to dry gear during lunchtime so kids can enjoy their time outside.
  • Hedgehog has become a success, not just in Norway, but also internationally. Hedgehog was recently given the prestigious Red Dot Award by the world´s largest product design competition. “For a teeny tiny company from Hemsedal to win an award when you compete with teams like the design team from Apple is unreal,” Bjørn said proudly.
  • Overall, life in Hemsedal looks bright for Team Hedgehog. Eline, Bjørn´s 11-year-old daughter, talked about her experience spending time in Hemsedal. “It's fun. We ski and snowboard. There's a little more snow in Hemsedal than New York,” she joked.

“God Morgen Norge” host, Peter Bubresko, concluded, “I think there are many who thank you, Bjørn, because you finally have found something that actually works.” Team Hedgehog is proud to have had an opportunity to share our story with TV2 and its viewers. Many thanks to TV2 for sharing our story.
